Founded by a senior paralegal who’s lived it, The Supporting Case exists to educate, empower, and advocate for the people who keep the legal world running.
The goal is to provide mentorship, CLEs, resources, and unapologetically real content for legal support professionals at every stage of their careers. From weekly articles to training tools, from practical advice to full-blown “someone finally said it” moments, we’re here to raise the standard- and raise each other up while we’re at it.
Because legal support professionals aren’t just assistants. And they’re not “baby lawyers” either. They are career professionals who deserve training, recognition, and a seat at the table. The Supporting Case was created to challenge outdated mindsets, promote smarter practices, and help build legal teams that actually work- because when legal support is strong, the whole system runs better.
I’m Jaclyn. Senior paralegal, mentor, mom, and the voice behind The Supporting Case. While my background is rooted in criminal defense, I’ve also worked across areas including criminal prosecutions, civil litigation, and cannabis law. I’m a former courtroom clerk, and while I’ve spent plenty of time in court, I’ve built my career on hard work, resourcefulness, and showing up when it counts.
I launched The Supporting Case because legal support professionals deserve better: better training, better mentorship, and better recognition for the work we actually do. This field isn’t a stepping stone. It’s a profession. And it’s time we started treating it like one.
